Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of HireTrades (the "Service") provided by HireTrades Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. References to "HireTrades", "we", "us" or "our" mean HireTrades Ltd. References to "you" or "your" mean the individual or organisation using the Service.

Our registered office and current contact details are kept on our contact page.

By creating an account, activating a business profile, posting content, posting a job, quoting on a job, or otherwise using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract under the laws of England and Wales.

If you act on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

You are responsible for keeping your password and 2FA codes secure. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to keep credentials secure.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Every HireTrades user has one Personal account. You may optionally activate one or more Business profiles from that single account (for example as a tradesperson, supplier, trade association, rental, real-estate agent or other supported type).

You may invite other HireTrades users to join your Business profile with roles (owner, admin, editor, viewer). Invited members must comply with these Terms in their own right. You remain responsible for the conduct of members you have invited to your business.

Business profiles are subject to verification. Until verified, certain capabilities (paid promotion, payouts, premium listings) may be limited.

HireTrades is a marketplace. We provide the platform that connects customers with tradespeople, suppliers and other businesses. Except where expressly stated, we do not provide the underlying services ourselves. Any contract for work, goods or services is formed directly between the customer and the tradesperson or supplier.

We are not a party to those contracts and we do not endorse, guarantee or warrant the quality, safety, legality or completion of any work or product listed.

If you operate a business profile on HireTrades, you warrant that:

• You hold all licences, certifications, registrations, insurance and qualifications required by UK law for the work or products you offer.
• You will perform work to a reasonable professional standard and comply with UK consumer protection law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
• You will not subcontract without disclosing this to the customer.
• You will respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally.
• You will honour quotes you submit through the platform, and pricing displayed on your listings.

We may require evidence of insurance or qualification at any time and may suspend your business profile if such evidence is not provided.

If you post a job or buy from a supplier you agree to:

• Provide accurate job descriptions and access details.
• Pay agreed amounts on time and per agreed payment terms.
• Treat tradespeople and suppliers respectfully and not engage in discriminatory or abusive behaviour.
• Not use HireTrades to obtain quotes you have no genuine intent to act on.

Some HireTrades features are free; others (such as HirePro, Featured listings, WhatsApp contact, paid Pulse boosts) require payment.

Payments are processed by our payment provider (currently Stripe) on our behalf. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's own terms.

Subscription pricing is shown on our pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. We may change subscription prices on at least 30 days' notice.

Platform commission. Where HireTrades collects payment on behalf of a tradesperson or supplier, we deduct a platform fee disclosed at the point of sale. The remaining amount is paid to the tradesperson/supplier in accordance with our payout schedule (typically within 7–14 working days of customer payment clearance).

When you purchase digital products inside the HireTrades iOS or Android app, the purchase is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Their terms apply in addition to ours. Refunds for App Store / Play purchases are processed by Apple or Google according to their policies; we cannot directly refund those payments.

Statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are not affected by these terms.

For digital subscriptions purchased on our website (via Stripe), you may cancel at any time. You retain access until the end of the paid billing period. Pro-rata refunds are given only where required by law.

For job-related disputes, please first try to resolve directly with the tradesperson or supplier. If you cannot, contact us via /contact and we will mediate in good faith.

You retain ownership of content you post on HireTrades (Pulse videos, listings, reviews, images, business descriptions). You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes such as format conversion and captioning), distribute and display that content on the Service and in our marketing channels for the purpose of operating and promoting HireTrades.

You warrant that you own the rights to anything you post (including any third party appearing in videos has consented), and that the content does not infringe the rights of any third party or breach any law.

You must not:

• Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, fraudulent, or that infringes intellectual property.
• Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, insurance or work history.
• Solicit users to transact off-platform to evade fees or accountability.
• Scrape, harvest or systematically copy data from the Service.
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or its security features.
• Use the Service to send spam, malware or unsolicited marketing.
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate reviews, ratings or referrals.

Customers may leave reviews based on first-hand experience. Reviews must be honest, factual and not contain personal data of third parties.

We reserve the right to remove reviews that breach these terms, applicable law, or that we reasonably believe to be fake, retaliatory or solicited in exchange for value. Tradespeople may publicly respond to reviews; responses must comply with the same rules.

We may operate a referral programme awarding recognition badges ("Sharer", "Convincer", "Charmer", "Influencer", "Fact-checker") for inviting others to HireTrades. Badges are purely reputational and confer no monetary value unless we expressly state otherwise in writing. We may change, suspend or terminate the referral programme at any time without notice.

You must not abuse the referral programme (e.g., fake accounts, paid signups, self-referrals).

"HireTrades", the HireTrades logo, designs, and the underlying software are owned by HireTrades Ltd. You may not use our brand or copy our software except as permitted by law (e.g., normal browser caching) or with our written permission.

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, HireTrades disclaims all warranties, conditions and implied terms except those that cannot be excluded under English law.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data or loss of goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

You agree to indemnify HireTrades against any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, your work performed for a customer, or your violation of any law.

We may suspend or terminate your account or any business profile if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if your account has been inactive for an extended period.

You may close your account at any time from Settings. On closure, we will retain records to the extent required by law (e.g., tax, anti-fraud) and as described in the Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction except where, as a consumer resident outside England and Wales, you have mandatory rights to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Before bringing legal proceedings, please contact us so we can attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
